“Where there’s a will, there’s a way” = nơi nào có ý chí, nơi đó có con đường. Nếu một người thực sự quyết tâm muốn làm điều gì đó, anh ta sẽ làm được. Thành ngữ tương đương ở tiếng Việt là “Có chí thì nên”. Hiện nay, họ có câu hài là “there’s a will, there’s a relative”, bạn nào hiểu được nào? 🙂
Ví dụ
John was lost in the jungle (rừng) and thought he could never get back home, but thinking about his family gave him the strength (sức mạnh) to climb a tall tree and see a way out (đường thoát), which just goes to show that when there is a will there is a way.
The seventh annual (thường niên) Forbes Women’s Summit kicked off (bắt đầu) in New York with words by national youth poet (thơ) laureate (người nhận giải) Amanda Gorman: “Where there’s a will, there’s a woman. And where there is a woman, there is always a way.”
“I feel like when there’s a will, there’s a way, and this could have happened, and it should have happened,” Stanley Fritz, Citizen Action of New York Campaign Manager, said. “And we’re going to go another year with black and brown people (người da màu) suffering from the failed War on Drugs (Cuộc chiến chống Ma túy).”
